The study guide is now available both on this website and via Arbiter. To access it here, just click on the "Study Guide" tab above. To access it via Arbiter, click on "Lists". Then click on "Forms". The study guide must be postmarked or given to Mario Miranda by Wednesday, August 25.
If you purchased your insurance through NFHS, you now have access to rule books, casebooks, and Officials Quarterly via Arbiter, too. To access them, click on "Switch Views" and choose "NFHS Main Central Hub". Then choose "Rules Library" for the rule books or "Quarterly" for the magazine.

The new position mechanics for 2010 have been posted on our mechanics page.
On Saturday, July 24, we will be having a supplemental training on 3-man mechanics geared toward ALL officials, including brand new prospects. The training will start at 1:00 and will be at Victory Park in Pasadena (Click here for directions.) Contact Mario Miranda for more information.

This Saturday, 6/19/10, is Camp Oxy! We look forward to seeing you there!
Our first general meeting will be on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Victory Park in Pasadena. Check-in starts at 8:30 A.M., and instruction will begin at 9:00. The barbecue has been brought back, and will begin about 11:00. If you haven't done so already, please pay your dues now, either by mailing a check to the secretary-treasurer, Darren Winkley, or by paying via PayPal above. Also, be sure to send proof of liability insurance through NASO or NFHS to Darren Winkley via email or fax. His contact information is on Arbiter.

The next board meeting will be on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at noon at the North Woods Inn in San Gabriel.
Remember that you must provide proof of insurance to the Secretary-Treasurer by June 1.

Our first meeting is scheduled for July 27, 2010. The rest of the calendar is now posted, although it is tentative.

Thank you to the 40+ officials that attended our Flank/Back Judge clinic today! Also thank you to Mario Miranda, Henry Torres, and Bob Beran for presenting at the clinic! Great Job!
Remember, study guides are due on Sunday, August 23 (except for first year officials). There will be four study guide sessions coming up. Please make sure you are finished with the study guide prior to attending the study guide session. The sessions are meant to be a review, not just an easy way to get the answers. The study guide sessions are as follows:

The San Gabriel Valley Football Officials Association is proud to present a clinic for Head Linesmen, Line Judges, and Back Judges. The clinic is free and will be this Sunday from 2:00 until about 5:00. The clinic will be in the banquet rooms at Brookside Golf Course next to the Rose Bowl. (Click here for directions.) Although the clinic is geared towards flanks and back judges, anyone is welcome to attend. The clinic and classroom based, so do not bring or wear your uniform. If you have any questions, please contact Mario Miranda or Darren Winkley.

It was wonderful seeing everyone at our meeting tonight! We have a great class of new officials, and we look forward to working with them. If you were unable to make it to the meeting, please contact our secretary-treasurer, Darren Winkley, to make arrangements to pay your dues and receive your membership kits.
If you interested in becoming an official, it's not too late to join us. We will be having a clinic on August 12 and several study guide sessions throughout August. Simply go to our Be A Ref page and fill out the membership form.

Congratulations to David Reyes, who has been appointed as the interim Vice President. His term will expire on December 31. We will be voting for a new VP during our elections in October.

Our first association meeting this year will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 7:00 PM at Occidental College. We will meet in the Norris Hall of Chemistry, in room Mosher 1. (Click here for a map of the campus.) SOS Sports will be there so you can replace your brown hat and yellow knickers, and get anything else you need. If your dues are current, you will receive your rulebook, casebook, calendar of important dates, and other instructional materials at this meeting. If you have not yet paid your dues, please do so at the meeting. As with last year, there will be no barbecue at the meeting.
